Cecil John Ives (North)

Born in Gorton, near Manchester to Mary Jane Ives neé Ward and Frederick North. He attended a naval school in the Forest Gate district of London with his brothers Francis Ernest Ives (North) and Percival Ives (North). The 1901 census states that he was a 'Hammerman Engine' by trade.

Once the marriage between Mary Jane Ives neé Ward and Frederick North ended (reasons for this are unknown) Cecil and his brothers and sisters took the surname of his step-father George Thomas Ives.

Cecil was brother to Francis Ernest Ives (North), Henry Frank Ives (North), Katherine Petts neé Ives (North), Jane Ives (North) and Percival Ives (North).
