Emily Maria Pullen neé Hunt

Emily was born in Newington, Surrey. She was the daughter of Edward Hunt and Emily Hunt neé Parker and sister to Edward William Hunt and Henry Frederick Hunt.

Emily married William James Pullen 30th October 1882 in Southwark. She died 18th June 1944, weighing approximately 18 stone.

Emily was the mother to Samuel Pullen as well as Alice Pullen, Edwin Pullen, Emily Elizabeth Pullen, Ernest Pullen, Francis George Pullen, Frederick Pullen, George Pullen, Henry Pullen, Herbert Pullen, Mary Pullen, Robert Pullen, Rose Pullen, William Pullen.

There was a rumour in the family that she was a Romany gypsy. Apparently it was a family tradition that her children and grandchildren visited Emily every Sunday for dinner, which was seen by some as a chore.
