Hannah was born in Islington. She was the daughter of William Robert Hammond and Emily Hammond neé Whisstock and the sister of Frank Hammond, Hannah Elizabeth Warner neé Brown neé Hammond, and Robert Hammond.

Hannah married Walter Henry Brown in Hoxton 18th October 1906. Together they had 4 children, Edith Brown, Elizabeth Emiliy Hayes neé Brown, Florence Lillian Phelps neé Brown and Winifred Hetty Pullen neé Brown.

Walter died before Hannah and Hannah subsequently married George Herman Warner and had a further son, George Ernest Warner.
