Katherine (Kitty) was the daughter of Frederick North and Mary Jane Ives neé Ward and the sister of Cecil John Ives (North), Francis Ernest Ives (North), Henry Frank Ives (North), Jane Ives (North) (her twin) and Percival Ives (North)

She married Jim Petts and moved to Deal. Like her brothers and sister, when her mother remarried she adopted her step-father’s surname (George Thomas Ives).
