When you're not at home, there are still things you can do to reduce your environmental impact:

  • Use The Bin: Throw away your litter. It's obvious really, but so many people still throw their rubbish on the ground. If you have rubbish that can be recycled (plastic bottles etc), then take it home and through it in your recycling bin as you can't be sure if the local council rubbish will be recycled or not.
  • Lunch: If you buy lunch when you're out and about, try and buy food in paper or card packaging e.g. most supermarkets offer a range of sandwiches in card packets. If you can, take your own lunch - sandwiches in an old bread bag or an old ice cream tub etc.
  • Use Handryers: This is a common question. Should I use the handryer or paper towels. The best thing to do is of course drip dry, but if this is not for you, always go for the handryer. More info can be found here and here. Finally, if you have to use paper towels, only use one - I manage and I have big hands!
